With marble grain and slaked lime for elegant and distinctive finishes. gräfix 685 is designed to be used with mineral lime base coats and is suitable for vapour-permeable mineral wall systems.
Thanks to its sorption properties, this slaked lime decorative render can absorb and release moisture, thereby helping to regulate moisture levels on the wall surface.

- Remove coatings that limit adhesion
- Pre-wet absorbent substrates as appropriate
- Alternatively, prime with Gräfix 687 or Rabolin 617
- If an insulating primer is required, prime with Rabolin 165
- Stir gräfix 685 and dilute with water if necessary
- Apply one or two coats to the substrate wet-on-wet
- For smooth substrates, apply a preliminary coat of Gräfix 66 HP
- Apply the material to the grain thickness and spread it out
- Texturise using a plastic trowel or a foam rubber disc

Mineral wall finishes: slaked lime plaster as a mainstay of building biology
Fine mineral surfaces are all the rage – which is why thin-layer coatings based on lime putty are becoming increasingly important in both new-build and renovation projects for residential properties.
Slaked lime coatings combine design possibilities with properties relevant to building biology and building physics. They are free from synthetic solvents, vapour-permeable and, thanks to their open-porous structure, can absorb and release moisture.
Even when applied in thin layers, the lime putty surface can thus help regulate moisture levels on the wall surface. The naturally high pH value of lime putty creates conditions on the surface that can inhibit the growth of mould.
