Ultra-lightweight, mineral-based base coat for direct application to straw-based elements

This ultra-lightweight ready-mixed plaster for straw substrates, with optimised adhesion and workability properties, is fibre-reinforced, offers high water vapour permeability and is characterised by a low modulus of elasticity.
gräfix 73 Pajalith is specially designed for use on straw as a plaster base. Thanks to its special, carefully balanced formulation, it is used wherever straw – for example, in the form of straw bales – is employed as a wall-building material.

- Levelling/trimming straw substrates – observe the straw construction guidelines!
- Apply using a rendering machine or by hand, and smooth to a level finish
- Mix one bag of Gräfix 73 with approx. 8–8.5 litres of water
- Apply the plaster layers in accordance with the application guidelines
- Coverage: approx. 135 m² per tonne at a plaster thickness of 10 mm
- Coverage: approx. 2.7 m² per bag at a plaster thickness of 10 mm

With straw and gräfix 73 Pajalith
Straw bale construction combines a renewable raw material with modern wall structures. Highly compacted straw bales are inserted between timber frames and plastered directly with gräfix 73 Pajalith.
The mineral plaster forms the surface of the wall structure and, when used in a system that has been appropriately tested, can contribute to fire protection. Combined with the thermal insulation properties of the straw bales, this creates a well-balanced wall structure for modern straw bale construction.
