gräfix 61 coarse hair
Coarse hair-lime base plaster
CS I · pure air lime plaster without added cement
Base coat for a vapour-permeable interior plaster containing air lime and animal hair, providing increased compressive and flexural tensile strength when applied over gräfix 61 and gräfix 61 fine, which ensures an optimal indoor climate thanks to its extensive moisture exchange. Thanks to its ability to absorb nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) via the ‘Clean Air’ effect. When used as an exterior plaster, gräfix 61 coarse animal hair must always be protected against the elements. Due to its coarse grain size of 4.0 mm, it is particularly suitable as a base coat, e.g. on clay or reed, to provide a firm substrate for subsequent layers of plaster.

Air-lime plasters are indispensable in building biology
No other wall coating possesses comparable properties in terms of building biology and physical characteristics to mineral air lime plaster, nor does any other create such a pleasant, healthy indoor climate by absorbing nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and regulating humidity levels in the room.
This is why lime plaster is becoming increasingly important today in the construction of new homes and the renovation of existing ones. Particularly when children live in the household, the topic of ‘healthy living’ is becoming ever more central. In terms of health and environmental sustainability, purely mineral air-drying lime plaster is the ideal building material. Owing to its natural composition, it is of immense value from both a building biology and building physics perspective.
Our air lime plasters have long been thoroughly tested by one of the leading institutes in the field of building biology. The intensive laboratory work, lengthy tests and the results of decades of experience have paid off.
An expert report covering every detail confirms the purely natural functionality of our gräfix lime range and serves as proof of its quality and well-deserved trust.
