gräfix 22

White lime hydrate CL 90-S

White lime slaked at the factory
(calcium hydroxide, Ca(OH)2)

gräfix 22 is used as a binding agent for mortar, plasters and other coatings and can be easily mixed in due to its fine distribution.
Furthermore, gräfix 22 is used for waste gas and waste water purification in waste incineration plants and sewage treatment plants, as well as a versatile neutralising agent.

Lime for the environment, industry and construction

Hydrated lime is a technically versatile raw material of great importance for environmental applications, industrial processes and the construction industry. In environmental technology in particular, hydrated lime performs important functions such as the rapid and effective neutralisation of acidic media thanks to its high reactivity, the stabilisation of pH values and the binding of undesirable substances in gaseous and liquid material flows.

A key area of application is wastewater treatment in sewage treatment plants. There, hydrated lime is used to regulate pH values and neutralise acids. This is particularly important for biological purification processes, as microorganisms are dependent on stable environmental conditions for the decomposition of nitrogen compounds. The targeted use of hydrated lime can improve process conditions, stabilise biological processes and support the cleaning performance of the system. At the same time, hydrated lime contributes to the protection of water bodies and safe compliance with water management requirements.

In industry, hydrated lime is used in chemical production processes, among other things. There it is used in particular for cleaning, treatment and process optimisation. One example is the flue gas cleaning of waste incineration plants. The construction industry is also a traditional field of application for hydrated lime, for example as a binding agent in masonry mortar and plasters. In summary, it can be said that hydrated lime contributes significantly to air pollution control, waste water treatment and stabilisation of material cycles.

The use of hydrated lime in asphalt is new. According to American studies, the adhesion between the minerals and the binders as well as the ageing capacity (embrittlement) of the bituminous mortar is improved by adding hydrated lime to the asphalt. Hydrated lime in asphalt leads to more stability, fewer ruts, in short: to durable roads.
