Laying natural stone slabs on Grand Tower balconies

gräfix Monodrän and 3423 fine enable reliable natural stone laying on balconies, even at dizzying heights

In Germany's tallest residential building, balconies and terraces were created using large-format natural stone slabs with plastic rings filled with monograin mortar (made from gräfix 418 - monodrain binder and 2/5 high-grade chippings) as pedestal supports. The natural stone slabs were fixed to the corners of the filled plastic rings with natural stone adhesive (gräfix 3423 fine - LithoRapid medium-bed adhesive, fast, white / C2TE).

Renovation of the half-timbered façade in Trappstadt

gräfix restores the former delivery house of Trappstadt Castle to its former splendour

The exterior façade of the building was relined with clay bricks and plastered with air lime in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions (lime leaflet). The gräfix mineral paint system consisting of gräfix 699, gräfix 697 and gräfix 694 helps to restore the half-timbered façade to its former charm.

Inside, a levelling layer was applied with reed plaster base and gräfix 65, followed by a plaster layer with gräfix 65 and gräfix 61 fine finishing plaster. Here too, the gräfix mineral paint system with the products gräfix 699, gräfix 697 and gräfix 696 was then applied.

Restoration work at St Anne's in Südeichsfeld Struth

gräfix lime putty gives the nave a new lease of life

Lime products are indispensable in monument conservation. The production of lime putty is an ancient art and still state-of-the-art. The interior of the church of St. Anna in Thuringia had already been coated with lime paint in the past, so it was obvious that the room shell should be reworked according to the historical model using the same material. The so-called lime chandelier effect, i.e. the light-reflecting properties attributed to lime paints, should make the interior shine again. Due to the alkaline effect of the lime paint, microbiological infestation of the church interior is largely avoided due to the special climatic interior conditions.

Facade restoration of St Peter's Church in Erfurt with gräfix mineral paints

gräfix at the BUGA 2021

Erfurt's Petersberg is not only a centre of attraction during the Federal Horticultural Show - this tourist magnet works uninterruptedly all year round. The Petersberg Citadel, the ascent to the Petersberg plateau and St Peter's Church, is one of the largest and largely preserved baroque city fortresses, whose walls have been covered with many tonnes of gräfix terrazzo mortar over the decades. The integration into the BUGA concept of the city of Erfurt means that this historic building is of central importance. In the course of this, the former monastery church was partially restored and repaired. The cleaned exterior façade was extensively conserved and the plaster surfaces were harmonised with the sandstone façade using a glazing technique.

Glazing technique with gräfix mineral paints - For a monochrome, cloudy and slightly transparent look of the façade, Mediterranean or creative surface designs with an individual signature can be created depending on the technique.

Straw bale house with gräfix 73 Pajalith

A recyclable natural house made of wood, straw, clay and lime

Healthy indoor climate without technical retrofitting!

Directly plastered, straw-insulated building components are airtight and windproof as well as completely open to diffusion. A constant exchange of indoor air humidity ensures an excellent, balanced indoor climate. The straw wall material provides excellent thermal insulation and, at the same level, thermal insulation in summer. The stability of the building is fully ensured by the timber construction, while the compact pressing of the straw and the plaster coating, with the gräfix 73 Pajalith plaster specially developed for straw construction, guarantee weather and fire protection. Even micro-organisms are not an issue thanks to the highly alkaline render. The render system is complemented with a silicate or mineral paint from our company.

We will be happy to advise you!

Natural stone installation with gräfix 3410 CR in "The Docks" in Frankfurt

High-quality floors with gräfix natural stone adhesive

No deformation - no discolouration!

With today's wide variety of natural stone slabs, safe and durable installation of sensitive natural stone slabs that are prone to deformation is more important than ever.

With the gräfix CR laying products gräfix 3210 CR and gräfix 3410 CR from the LithoRapid product range, explicit attention was paid during development to ensuring that the focus was not exclusively on the standard-compliant functionality of the products. In order to create an outstanding product, the challenge was not only to fulfil the standard-compliant adhesive properties, but also to prevent damage-causing interactions between the adhesive and the laying material without neglecting the processing properties. Both of these aspects were successfully achieved and the application was convincing.

Jura limestone (grey-blue) was laid in the Dock 3.0 project in Frankfurt's Osthafen.
